
Irene Enzlin (1993) was born in Zutphen, Holland. She took up the cello when she was 4 years old, and was first taught by Miriam Mudde, Yke Viersen and later by Michael Stirling. Irene has won several prizes, such as the first prize of the Herman Krebbers violin and cello competition, the first prize and the audience prize of the Haydn Music Festival and she also became National Young Talent of the year 2005. In April 2008 she joined the Yehudi Menuhin School (England), and was taught by Pierre Doumenge before carrying on her studies with Charles Watt. Irene regularly performs concerts both as soloist and as part of an orchestra or chamber music ensemble in England and abroad. She has had masterclasses with Gary Hoffman, Colin Carr, Raphael Wallfisch and others. Her cello and bow are lent to her from the National Music Instruments Foundation of Holland.
